Anne, I always appreciate your love of fun, your encouragement and your thoughtful exercises to help us access our own style, fall in love with our perspective and appreciate the lines we make. Learning to use contour drawing, blind contour drawing and one line drawing in my drawing practice helped me to approach drawing, especially complex objects, with more curiosity and lightheartedness. I love what you said about blind contour drawing as a way of trusting ourselves -- our eyes and our hand --without having inner critic, or left brain, judging us. So fun, so freeing. And the drawings that we end up with are surprisingly fresh and interesting. Deepening my drawing practice with you is delightful and helps make life a little bit more magical.

In this fun, relaxed virtual workshop, Anne will show you how to turn everyday objects into playful, expressive still-life drawings. We’ll play with shape, scale, and composition—then add bold color and creative marks to bring it all to life. Expect unexpected pairings, plenty of artistic freedom, and a fresh take on a classic subject. Have a few objects on hand (like a cup, vase, or plant) and your sketchbook—no experience needed!

Draw from photos and artwork inspired by storms, sunshine, clouds, and shifting atmospheres. Expressive lines welcome. Perfection? Not so much.
